Knight Protection is looking to hire Gallery Attendants to assist the Visitors Experience Team and Security Officers at The Broad Museum. The Gallery Attendants play a key role in facilitating a safe and positive experience for our visitors. As a Gallery Attendant, your duties will range from helping to keep the visitors and artwork safe, to directing visitors to various locations within the museum.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Greet and welcome visitors and groups
· Help support the Visitor Experience Team
· Direct visitors to various areas of the museums including restrooms or other exhibits in the museum
· Notify security or Visitor Experience Team member of any safety or security issues.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Friendly and approachable demeanor
· Experience in hospitality, retail, attractions, or cultural organizations strongly preferred
· Ability to work with visitors of diverse backgrounds, with varying degrees of familiarity with museums and contemporary art
· Ability to work in fast-paced environments
· Ability to work as part of a diverse team to implement a first-class visitor experience for all visitors
· Effective and persuasive communications skills; ability to communicate clearly and present information to a wide variety of visitors.
· Comfortable helping enforcing or reporting safety and security issues
· Ability to identify and facilitate resolutions for visitor issues in the moment, strong decision-making skills necessary.
· Multilingual applicants strongly preferred

· Adhere to all safety measures and guidelines
· Ability to wear a mask during your scheduled work shifts
· Ability to adhere to a health screen in compliance with health and safety guidelines as outlined by LA County Department of Public Health
· Must adhere to COVID-19 policies and procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed both inside the museum. This role requires both remaining stationary as well as frequently moving about the museum galleries to assist visitors through the museum and help protect the safety of the artwork.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to remain stationary as well as frequently move around public areas of the museum for extended periods of time.
SCHEDULE
Team members must be available Tuesday-Sunday in conjunction with the current hours of operation (see below).
The museum’s days and hours of operation are subject to change, which will likewise affect work schedules.
Monday | closed*
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday | 10:45a.m. – 5:05 p.m.
Thursdays | 10:45a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday | 9:45 a.m. – 6:05 p.m.
*Museum hours are expected to increase to additional days and hours per week
*There are monthly events that due require Gallery Attendants stay until after 10pm. These are announced as they arise. It is often required that all staff work these events.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background and reference check
TRAINING FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR A MONDAY IN JUNE
