Summary: Under the direction of the General Superintendent and Project Foreperson, the Grade Person will be responsible for conducting layout and stake out of self-performing works and monitoring and tracking progression of work up to and including collecting as-built information.
Responsibilities:
- Setup and operation of levels, for layout and stakeout of various project work sites.
- Survey and preparation of as-built drawings including roads, parking lots, driveways & excavations.
- Create grade sheets and as-built construction reports.
- Collect and organize information and prepare drawings, charts, plans, records, and documents.
- Calculate layout from digital design files or PDF drawings.
- Perform construction layout as required, in coordination with grading and paving crews.
- Perform quantity surveys as required.
- Set and maintain site benchmarks as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Effective communication (written and verbal).
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a high level of dependability.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Ability to prioritize and pay attention to fine details.
- Computer knowledge.
- Valid drivers’ license, to support travel requirements.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends, as required.
